Home My WebLink About20062540 RESOLUTION RE: GRANT REQUEST TO PREADVERTISE SITE SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT#1573 - CEDAR CREEK WIND ENERGY, LLC, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from Cedar Creek Wind Energy, LLC, 310 4th Street,Charlottesville,Virginia 22902,for preadvertisement of an application for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit#1573 for a Mineral Resource Development Facility (concrete batch plant) in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, and WHEREAS, said property is described as part of the NW1/4 NW1/4 of Section 2, Township 10 North, Range 60 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,after study and review the Board deems it advisable to grant said request,with the hearing date to be set as October 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request from Cedar Creek Wind Energy, LLC, for preadvertisement of an application for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit#1573 for a Mineral Resource Development Facility(concrete batch plant)in the A(Agricultural)Zone District be, and hereby is, granted. This batch plant will be used to produce concrete foundations for the wind turbines approved under case # USR-1563. Per the applicant's letter of August 10, 2006, [Cedar Creek Wind Energy LLC] states "In order to complete construction of the project and achieve a commercial operations date of December 2007 as required by the power purchase agreement between Cedar Creek and Public Service of Colorado (Xcel), Cedar Creek intends to commence its construction activities in the Fall of 2006. Critical to commencement of construction will b,ctoe roject's obtaining its necessary USR permit from the County. Accordingly, setting an uguat 18, 2006 public hearing date is of significance to Cedar Creek as it allows the project to meet its construction schedule and its contractual obligations with Xcel.
