The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County
Home Rule Charter, Monday, December 18, 2006, 6:30 p.m., at Weld County
Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by President Gene Stille. Vice
President Tom Pettit, Councilwoman Ginny Buczek, Councilman Dwaine Kurtz and
Councilman Chip Marks were present to constitute a quorum of the members. Also
present: Jacqueline Buczek, John Kivimaki, Nancy Kurtz, Nancy Teksten, and Bev
Thomas, council secretary.
AGENDA: Councilwoman Ginny Buczek made a motion to approve the agenda as
printed. The motion was seconded and carried.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Councilman Dwaine Kurtz made a motion to approve the
November 20, 2006 and the November 27, 2006 council minutes. The motion was
seconded and carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Councilwoman Ginny Buczek made a motion the council adopt Resolution 157 RE:
Conflict of Interest Disclosure of Mr. Walt Speckman. The motion was seconded and
carried unanimously.
Councilwoman Ginny Buczek recused herself from the council's vote on Resolution 158
Appointing Ginny Buczek to Council District 2. Councilman Chip Marks made a motion
the council adopt Resolution 158 Appointing Ginny Buczek to Council District 2. The
motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Councilwoman Ginny Buczek made a motion the council adopt Resolution 159
Appointing John Kivimaki to Council District 3. The motion was seconded and carried
unanimously.
Councilman Chip Marks made a motion to adopt Resolution 160 Appointing Nancy
Teksten to Council At-Large. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Set Meeting Date for Weld County Council in January 2007
Councilwoman Ginny Buczek made a motion to set the January 2007 council meeting
January 15, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, CO.
With agreement of newly-elected council members whose appointment begins January
2, 2007, the council secretary was instructed to prepare a resolution for the January 15,
2007-0217

2007 meeting stating the 2007 Weld County Council meetings will be on the third
Monday of each month, except in February 2007 when the meeting will be on the
second Monday of the month, February 12, 2007. The meetings will be at 6:30 p.m.
The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Coordinator Reports
President Gene Stille reported on the December 18, 2006 Elected Officials Meeting.
Councilman Dwaine Kurtz noted the Commissioners had appointed Dr. Patrick Allen to
be the new County Coroner.
Payment of the Bills
Councilman Dwaine Kurtz made a motion to pay the bills as listed:
Mileage for President Gene Stille $21.25
Mileage for Vice President Tom Pettit $10.41
Mileage for Councilwoman Ginny Buzcek$31.45
Mileage for Councilman Chip Marks $35.70
The motion was seconded and carried.
ADJOURNMENT: President Gene Stille adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
