HomeMy WebLinkAbout20072493.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO AUGUST 6, 2007 TAPE #2007-23 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 6, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED Commissioner William F. Garcia Commissioner Robert D. Masden Commissioner Douglas Rademacher Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Jennifer VanEgdom Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of August 1, 2007, as printed. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$81,008.81. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Garcia seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL,SECTION 6.000, COLORADO WORKS IN WELD COUNTY AND CHILD CARE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Judy Griego, Director, Department of Social Services, stated the addition to the Operations Manual will provide a transitional educational and employment program for foster care youth through the Pillars of Successful Independence Program. She stated the Department will reimburse the Weld County Department of Human Services, Employment Services Division, a total of$89,112.87, for a time period of June 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. She further stated a total of 15 youth, and their biological or County-certified foster parents, will be involved in four major component areas of education, life skills,social skills, and employment. Ms. Griego stated the program will assist youth in the transition to biological and adoptive homes, and upon attaining the age of sixteen, to emancipation and independence programs. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said revisions. Seconded by Commissioner Garcia, the motion carried unanimously. 2007-2493 BC0016 0g �7- 0 -7 CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN- SIGNAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NETWORK: Ms. Griego stated the term of the agreement is June 1, 2007, through May 31, 2008, and the Department will reimburse Signal Behavioral Health Network, on behalf of Island Grove Regional Treatment Center, a maximum total of$300,000.00. She stated Signal will provide assessments,monitored sobriety services, and treatment according to a fee schedule,and the source of funding is Core Services. Commissioner Garcia moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
