We have the option of paying$75,000 to have KM directionally drill the well from an existing well off our property to the southwest and be out of our gravel mining and potential water storage area. KM owns rights to all the sands in the drill box in question on the MFM property. The following analysis shows the economics of Lafarge paying for the directional drilling is justified. Gravel • ---I Without directional drilling, the well would be located 2,170 feet from the west property line and be served by a 25'-wide Bowline and service road. Gravels in the area are 40' thick. The service road would be 2,070' long from the property line to the circular pad. 25' road x 2,070' x 40'= 2,070,000 cu 11/27 cu ft per cu yd = 76,667 cu yds. Two side slopes at 3H:1V = 2 x 40' x 3 x 2,070' =496,800 cu 11/27= 18,400 cu yds. 100' radius circle around well for drill pad: (100' x 100' x 3.14 x 40') = 1,256,000 cu ft/27 = 46,518 cu yds. 3H:1 V side slope for the wellsite: radius is 120' + 100' = 220'. (220' x 220' x 3.14) — (100' x 100' x 3.14) = 120,576 sq ft x 20' (avg height) = 2,411,520 cu ft/27 = 89,316 cu yds. Total cu yds: 76,667 + 18,400+46,518 + 89,316= 230,901 Total feed tons: 230,901 x 1.5 tons per cu yd= 346,352. Total product tons at 15%washout= 294,399 Water Storage 230,901 cu yds/1613.33 cu yds per acre-foot = 143 acre-feet. Economics Gravel at $1.00 per ton margin= $294,399 discounted 10 years at 9%= net present value of $124,357. Water storage at $2,500 per acre-foot x 143 ac-ft = $357,500 discounted 15 years at 9%= net present value of$98,147.
