RE: EXPRESSION OF SUPPORT FOR THE NORTHERN INTEGRATED SUPPLY PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District is working with 13 northern
Front Range municipalities and water districts to establish the Northern Integrated Supply Project
("NISP"), whereby such participants will be supplied with 34,400 acre-feet of new water yield and
17,000 acre-feet of new storage, and
WHEREAS, if approved and constructed, NISP will meet much of the needs of the
participants over the next 50 years, and
WHEREAS, a summary of NISP is attached hereto and is referred to herein as"Exhibit A,"
and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to express its support for NISP.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that it hereby expresses its support for NISP as described in the attached
Exhibit A.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 11`h day of April, A.D., 2007.
