HomeMy WebLinkAbout20071456.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF THOMAS HONN AS PLANNING SERVICES DIRECTOR WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, due to the appointment of Monica Daniels-Mika as the Director of Administrative Services, a vacancy currently exists in the Planning Services Director position, and WHEREAS,the Board deems it advisable,aftera national search,to appoint Thomas Honn as the Planning Services Director. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that Thomas Honn be, and hereby is, appointed as the Planning Services Director, effective June 1, 2007. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 21st day of May, A.D., 2007. Honn as the new Weld County Director of Planning Services. Mr. Honn will replace Monica Mika effective June 1, 2007. As announced by the commissioners earlier, Mika will become the Director of Administrative Services for Weld County. Honn is a long time Weld County resident and has nearly 30 years of land use planning experience. Since 1993, he has owned and operated his own planning consultant firm working primarily in Weld and Larimer Counties. Prior to that time, he held various professional planning positions in local government in Littleton, Colorado, Rapid City, South Dakota, Glendale, Arizona, and Weld County government. Horan served as a Senior Planner for Weld County from 1974-1982. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.
