RE: ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGE FOR DELINQUENT TAXES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,Section 39-10-104.5, C.R.S.,provides that an additional charge may be added
to any delinquent taxes totaling less than fifty dollars ($50.00), including all delinquent interest and
charges, for the purpose of covering the administrative costs and fees incurred by the county for
collecting such delinquencies, and the fee shall be determined by the Board of County
Commissioners, and
WHEREAS,the Weld County Treasurer has shown costs data that the administrative costs
and fees incurred for these delinquent accounts exceed ten dollars ($10.00) for each account
collected, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners has reviewed the data and
determined that the fee to be charged for these delinquent accounts shall be five dollars ($5.00).
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
the Board has determined that the Weld County Treasurer, effective with the 2008 property tax
bills, shall be authorized to collect five dollars ($5.00) per Section 39-10-104.5, C.R.S., for any
account that has any delinquent taxes totaling less than fifty dollars, including all delinquent interest
and charges, for the purpose of covering the administrative costs and fees incurred by the county
for collecting such delinquencies.
