Pipeline Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
Weld County, Colorado
Beginning the week of October 1, 2007, Colorado Interstate Gas (CIG) will prepare
for and conduct routine safety test procedures of the Company's pipeline to ensure the
pipeline meets Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. CIG will conduct two
hydrostatic pressure tests of the underground 22" natural gas pipeline (CIG Line 5A) that
runs approximately north/south through Greeley and Evans area (approximately 10.92
miles of total pipe to be tested). The test will be divided into two sections:
1) North Test Section: From CIG Greeley Meter Station located at the southeast
corner of 20th St. and 59`h Ave. intersection to CIG Block Valve 5, located west of
County Road (CR) 70 and CR 31 intersection. The test segment of pipe will run
from CR 70 (north of Greeley), continuing south across State Highway 392, CR
66, "O" St., "C" St., Hunter's Cove subdivision, 4th St., 59`h Ave., Business
Highway 34 (10th St.), and 20th St. to the Greeley Meter Station.
2) South Test Section: From Greeley Meter Station to Valve 4, which is located on
the south side of CR 394, west of CR 33. The test segment of pipe will run from
Greeley Meter Station through the Greeley Golf Course, Highland Hills
subdivision, State Highway 34, West T-Bone Ranch subdivision, 37`h St.,
Arrowhead subdivision, Neville's Crossing subdivision, 49th St., and Dos Rios
subdivision, terminating directly south of CR 394, approximately 1.5 miles north
of CR 46.
The north section is tentatively scheduled to be tested on Saturday, October 6, starting
at 8:00 AM (8 hour minimum duration). Assuming a successfully test of the north
section, the south section is tentatively scheduled to be tested on Tuesday, October 9,
starting at 8:00 AM (8 hour minimum duration).

CIG will first remove the natural gas from the pipeline and then fill the north test
section pipeline with water. The pipeline will be placed under pressure for a minimum
period of 8 hours to check for any possible defects in the pipeline. CIG personnel will be
on the scene to inspect and monitor this operation, as well as respond to any issues. If a
leak is detected, water in the pipeline will indicate the area of the leak so that it can be
repaired or replaced. This might result in water being seen temporarily on local streets or
in other areas. Customers within the tested area should not experience any disruption of
service. Local authorities have been notified of this work. This procedure will then be
repeated for the south test section.
