RE: DIRECTIVE TO WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CONCERNING
PLACEMENT OF `RIGHT TO FARM' SIGNS ON STATE HIGHWAYS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Comprehensive Plan includes a 'Right to Farm Statement'
which is included at Appendix 22-E of the Weld County Code, and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has been authorized by
the State of Colorado to administer and enforce the provisions of Sections 43-1-410, C.R.S., et
seq., cited as the "Outdoor Advertising Act," and
WHEREAS,CDOT has requested that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County
submit a Resolution expressing the desire of the Board to place signs reflecting that Weld County
is a 'Right to Farm' County at various locations along State Highways.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Weld County Department of Public Works shall post signs at various
locations along State Highways within Weld County stating that Weld County is a 'Right to Farm'
County and that this Resolution be presented to CDOT as evidence of the Board's decision.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 15th day of August, A.D., 2007.
