RE: EXTENSION OF THE TERMINATION DATE OF PEST CONTROL DISTRICT -
EASTERN WELD COUNTY PEST CONTROL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County-,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a hearing was held before the Board of County Com-
missioners on the 3rd day of August, 1983, at the hour of 2: 00
o'clock p.m. , concerning the extension of the termination date
for the Eastern Weld County Pest Control District, located in Weld
County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a petition was presented to the Board requesting
extension of the termination date of the above named district
from September 1, 1983 until September 1, 1988 .nand
WHEREAS, evidence was taken by the Board, and it appearing
to the Board that the extension of the termination date of the
above named pest control district should, in the best interests
of Weld County, be extended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that, pursuant to Section
35-5-104 (7) , CRS 1973, as amended, the termination date of the
above named pest control district, located in Weld County be,
and hereby is, extended from September 1, 1983 until September 1,
1988.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 3rd day of
August, A.D. , 1983.

Weld Pest Control District and re-appointing the members of
the District Advisory Board for your files and a copy of each
Resolution for the Pest Control District files.
Also attached are copies of the re-appointment Resolution
for each member of the Advisory Board along with an oath of
office. Please have each member of the Advisory Board sign
his oath of office in the presence of a notary public and
return the original to this office.

DISTRICT
A public hearing was conducted on hj 9nesday, Ang - , 1983 at 2:00 P. M. , with
the following present:

The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated July 20, 1983, and duly
published on July 21, 1983, in the La Salle Leader, a public hearing was .
held for the purpose of considering the extension of termination date for
Eastern Weld County Pest Control.District. This request was read into the
record by the Chairman. Mr. Stan Boyes, Extension Service, presented this
itan to the Board. Mr. Boyes said this District is now requesting their
second extension, having been organized in 1973. He said when this district
was first organized it included 177,000 acres,- since then areas around Milton
Lake have petitioned to be in this district, making the total acres approxi-
mately 250,000. Mr. Boyes said this district has only been sprayed 3 times
since it was organized, but he said his recommendation would be to grant the
extension of the termination date. Mr. Boyes explained that if the extension
is not granted and this district would need to be sprayed, a ballot process
would be needed in order to do the spraying; The Chairman asked Mr. Boyes
• what is needed in order to be included in this district. Mr. Boyes said
this is limited to range-land only and must have at least 10,000 acres.
He said if they are adjacent and joining the present boundaries they can
petition for joining. He went on to explain how, if they have at least 5
acres, they can form their own district. After further discussion, Commis-
sioner N. Carlson moved to approve the extension of termination date for
Eastern Weld County Pest Control District until September 1, 1988. Commis-
• sioner Martin seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. •
The Chairman said the Advisory Coimiittee must be appointed at this time
also. Commissioner N. Carlson moved to reappoint the present Advisory
Committee. Commissioner Johnson seconded the motion and it carried
unanimously.

Of The County of Weld, State of Colorado
We, the undersigned District Advisory Committee for the Eastern Weld
County Pest Control District
Pest_ Control District do hereby petition the Board of County Commissioners re-
questing an extension of the termination date of the district until September 1,
1988
In accordance with House Bill No. 1107 passed in 1975, the Board can do this
by holding a hearing to determine if the'Pest Control District should or should not
extend the termination date. If the Board determines after this hearing that such
extension date is advisable the Board shall immediately declare the extension of the
termination date and shall inform the district advisory committee and the County
Assessor.
We the undersigned respectfully request the above action be taken before
September 1, 1983 as this District's termination date is
Sept. 1 1983 .
