HomeMy WebLinkAbout20071726.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JUNE 18, 2007 TAPE #2007-17 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, June 18, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tern - TARDY Commissioner William F. Garcia Commissioner Robert D. Masden Commissioner Douglas Rademacher Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Elizabeth Strong Controller, Barb Connolly MINUTES: Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of June 11, 2007, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Barb Connolly, Controller, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$117,788.87. Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as presented by Ms. Connolly. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. (Commissioner Jerke is now in attendance.) NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENTS TO PURCHASE GROUP HOME/GROUP CENTER CARE SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - YOUTH VENTURES OF COLORADO: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,stated the addendum is to the agreement for Group Home Services with Youth Ventures of Colorado, for a term ending June 30, 2007. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said addendum and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Garcia, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN- GREELEY QUICK CARE: Ms. Griego stated this is a continuing agreement with Greeley Quick Care, for a term of July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, to provide health evaluations for Weld County certified foster care parents and their biological children for the purpose of obtaining, or maintaining, certification 2007-1726 BC0016 7-//-e7 as foster parents. She stated the Department will reimburse the Contractor a maximum of$7,000.00, at a rate of$58.00 per person. Commissioner Garcia moved to approve said agreement and authorize Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER FOUR NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the award period is June 1, 2007, through May 31, 2008. She stated the source of funding is Core Services, and the contractors will provide Life Skills Programs for families involved in the child welfare system. Ms. Griego read the names of the four contractors into the record. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said financial assistance awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER THREE NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR FOSTER PARENT TRAINING PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego read the names of the three contractors into the record, and stated the training package reimbursement rates are listed in the memorandum. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER TWO NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR FOSTER PARENT CONSULTATION PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated these awards are for the Foster Parent Consultation Program with contractors Julie Box and Lori Kochevar, LLC, and the reimbursement rates are provided in the memorandum. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER SEVEN NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR HOME STUDIES, UPDATES, AND RELINQUISHMENT COUNSELING SERVICES WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego read the names of the seven contractors into the record for the home studies, updates, and relinquishment counseling services. In response to Chair Long, Ms. Griego stated the bid process was fair and equitable, and it included review by the Families, Youth, and Children Commission, and the Board. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Garcia, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER TWO NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR INTENSIVE FAMILY THERAPY PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the contractors are Troy Hause, Attorney at Law, and Julie Box; and the reimbursement rates are provided in the memorandum. She stated the contractors will provide mediation for the intensive family therapy programs. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said financial assistance awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER THREE NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR SEX ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS: Ms. Griego read the names of the three contractors in the record and stated they will provide therapy services for non-offending parents, victims, siblings of victims, and sexually abusive adolescents. She stated the rates are provided in the memorandum. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve said and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER TWO NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR HOME BASED INTENSIVE(OPTION B)SERVICES WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the contractors are with Reflections for Youth, Inc., and Nelson, Wolf, and Associates, P.C. She stated the reimbursement rates are provided in the memorandum . Commissioner Garcia moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chairto sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER FIVE NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARDS FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES WITH VARIOUS CONTRACTORS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego read the names of the five contractors into the record, and stated the reimbursement rates are provided in the memorandum. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve said awards and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
