HomeMy WebLinkAbout820821.tiff e 447 RESOLUTION RE: APPROVAL TO CHANGE PARAGRAPH 3.7.1 AND 6.11 OF THE WELD COUNTY ADMINIS- TRATIVE MANUAL, PERSONNEL POLICIES, REGARDING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, paragraph 3.7.1 of the Weld County Personnel Policies Manual states that health insurance is provided by the County for all employees beginning on the first of the month following the month of employment, and WHEREAS, paragraph 6.11 of the Weld County Personnel Policies Manual states that all permanent employees receive Comprehensive Major Medical Health Insurance at no cost to the employees, and WHEREAS, the cost to provide adequate medical coverage for county employees has increased yearly for the past ten years, and WHEREAS, employees were surveyed during the budget process as to whether they wanted full coverage of health insurance or added compensation and the results indicated a majority desired to pay a portion of the insurance pre- mium, and WHEREAS, it has been agreed that effective with January, 1982 insurance coverage, paragraph 3.7.1 and 6.11 of the Weld County Personnel Policies will be changed to read as follows: 3.7.1 Health insurance is provided by the County for all employees beginning on the first of the month following the first pay period. 6.11 Group Health Insurance-Blue Cross and Blue Shield - All permanent employees receive comprehensive major medical health insurance of which the county pays a portion and the employee pays a portion. Employees wanting health insurance for all of their dependents under age 65 will have a monthly payroll deduction taken from their pay at the current rate. For dependents over age 65, there is medicare at a reduced rate that can be with- held from their pay. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that paragraph 3.7.1 and 6.11 of the Weld County Personnel Policies Manual be changed to read as stated above. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that said changes shall become effective with the January, 1982 insurance coverage.
