2007 WELD COUNTY FAIR 23
ICC1 Weld
County
Fairest of the Fair
Hello! My name is Erin Marvin, and I am currently serving as your
2007 Weld County Fair Queen. Being able to fulfill the position of Weld County
Fair Queen has been a life-altering event for me. This opportunity has presented me
with a wealth of experiences, and it is my sincere desire to reciprocate and represent
you, the Fair and Weld County to the best of my abilities.
I graduated from Weld Central High School in May, and I am anxious to
attend Capser College this fall, where I will be on the livestock judging team. This
just one of the many examples of what 4-H has given to me. From my involvement in
the Weld County 4-H Livestock Judging Team, I will be receiving a scholarship to
judge. I had the privilege of being a member of the team that was Reserve Grand
Champion at the National 4-H Livestock Judging contest in Louisville, Ky. A quick
congratulations needs to be given to the other members on the team—Dustin Frank,
Ben Fritz, Reid Lohr and Ross Lohr <
Family is an integral part of my life, and I can easily say that without the wonderful support and infinite patience of
my parents, Dave and Claudia, I would not be where I am today. I also have a younger sister and two younger brothers, who
daily show me that patience is a virtue, and who have taught me more life lessons than I could ever hope of teaching them.
In addition to 4-H, I am also heavily involved in FFA, where I have served in various leadership capacities. I am a
member of our school's National Honor Society, student council, the speech team, my local youth group, the soccer team and the
Colorado Junior Angus Association. As anybody could tell you, I am a very busy individual who seems to be involved in a little
bit of everything!
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Fair Queen. I have had a wonderful time, and thank you to Katie and Jaci
for making this a fabulous year!I hope to see you all at the Weld County Fair, and good luck to all of the participants/
Hey Everyone/My name it Katie Samples, your 2007 Weld County Fair
Attendant I have grown up in Windsor, Colo., and absolutely love it. This is one of my
favorite places because'get the best of both worlds, rural and urban. Agricultural
education has just been brought back to Windsor High School. It has now become one of
my biggest passions in life.
My family is also a major part of my life. They are the heart and soul of my lfe,
and have been the ones that helped me get to the point where I am today. My family is qd s,
very large and is a major part of my values With a large family my thoughts, values,
and actions have been tested repeatedly, and it has taught me more than anything else ',
ever could. I am also a very active member in my church. I have the privilege of teaching
Sunday school, and 1 absolutely love it. The last year has also made my life better than
ever imagined
Serving as the 2006 Weld County Fair Queen helped me develop my skills in many
areas. Watching all of the members have changed my perspective on life. This along with being the Weld County Youth Executive
Council President has helped me flourish even more. Weld County has some of the best people in the world and they make you
proud of America.
In the next few years my plans are to run for an FFA state office, and hopefully get it. Then I plan to pursue my
agriculture business degree along with my Spanish degree. Life is changing so fast around all of it but something is always the
same, that Weld County a the best place in the world to live. [
