Dear Weld County Commissioners,
I am writing this letter to voice my concerns regarding the proposed uranium
mining in Nunn, Colorado. As a Colorado native I am vehemently opposed to
this proposal due to the negative impacts uranium mining will have on our land,
water and health. This project does not protect the interests of local people,
Coloradoans, or anyone likely to be affected by contamination of the Fox Hills
Aquifer. I know that you have the power to shut down the current proposed
mining project. Don't let Powertech or any other company jeopardize Colorado's
environment by mining uranium. I urge you to act quickly and stop the uranium
mining, before the damage is done.
Sincerely,
t- mod akefoxit

We see that the state has given permission to Power Tech to drill test holes at their
proposed uranium mining sites. It appears that the big money folks keep moving right
ahead with their mining plans while all of the Weld County Commissioners remain
suspiciously silent.
Please stand up for those working folks who have lived and paid taxes in Weld County for
years. Don' t let Power Tech devaluate their property with at least fair compensation to
those harmed. We believe there are many unanswered questions regarding the monitoring of
air, ground and water quality that should be important to you as "governors" of this
county!
Let us hear from you. We feel that our county representation has deserted the northwest
portion of the county! ! ! !
