The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, September 5, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William F. Garcia
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick
Controller, Barbara Connolly
MINUTES: Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of August 29, 2007, as printed. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
WARRANTS: Barbara Connolly, Controller, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the
amount of $101,594.82. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the warrants as presented by
Ms. Connolly. Commissioner Garcia seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
JON GARSON: Judy Griego, Director of Department of Social Services, stated the term of the agreement
is from June 1, 2007, through May 31, 2008, and the source of funding is Core Services funding.
Ms. Griego stated Jon Garson will provide psychological services for people involved in the child welfare
system, and be reimbursed according to the fee schedule detailed in the agreement. Commissioner
Garcia moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner
Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER ADDENDUMS TO FIVE AGREEMENTS TO PURCHASE GROUP HOME/GROUP CENTER
CARE SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-VARIOUS PROVIDERS: Ms.Griego stated under
these Addendums the County will reimburse the following providers for Group Home/Group Center Care
Services: A Kidz Hope Homes, Inc.; Evergreen Group Center; Griffith Center for Children; Loving Homes,
Inc.; and REM Colorado, Inc. In response to Commissioner Garcia, Ms. Griego stated the various fees
cover facility costs and the level of service provided. She further stated the Department does an

assessment to determine which center is the best for the children. Commissioner Garcia moved to
approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the
motion, which carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
