RE: Terracon Contract Work Order 4 for Materials Testing on 2008-2007 Bridge Rehabilitations

Brief description of the problem/issue:
We have selected Terracon to perform these services under the On-Call Geotechnical Contract. This service is
required to ensure that the concrete used during construction meet contract specifications. Weld County will
perform the slump, Air Content, Temperature test in the field, along with casting the cylinders for Terracon to
break. Attached is Work Orders No. 4 and the costs to complete the work. Terracon estimates the cost for the
testing to be $576.00.
What options exist for the Board? (Include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options)
BOCC can either approve Work Order No. 4 and continue proceeding with the work or deny approval for Work
Order No. 4
Recommendation to the Board: I recommend approval of Work Order No. 4 for Terracon under On-Call
Geotechnical Contract.
