Loveland, Colorado 80537 March 3, 2007 Mr. Bill Garcia Weld County Commissioner 915 Tenth Street P.O. Box 758 Greeley, Colorado 80632 Mr. Garcia: Attached please find a copy of a letter we have sent to representatives of the Sinclair Oil Company. As you can see from the letter, this oil company is planning to exercise their right to an easement that goes right across an established housing development, distrupting many homes and all of the roads in the development. If you can be any assistance in our attempt to fight this disruption to our property and roads, please do so. A group of 100 homeowners does not stand much of a chance in a battle against a huge oil company! Thank you for considering our problem, and helping with any solution. Sincerely, fgaii W. R pY Ma ran- a Rampy 6713 Apache Rd. Loveland, Colorado 80537 March 3, 2007 Mr. Gene Lang Right of Way Representative Sinclair Pipeline Company 6995 Chapparal Circle Aurora, Colorado 80016 (303) 690-2218 Mr. Lang: It has been brought to the attention of homeowners in lndianhead West Estates development that the Sinclair Oil Company plans to exercise their right to the easement that runs under sections of both the Indianhead Estates and lndianhead Estates West subdivisions. If this proposal is carried out, there will be great disruptions to all of the homeowners in the developments, as well as those highly affected by the proposed oil pipeline. Indianhead Estates development has been in existence on the west side of County Road 15, just south of US 34, in Weld County, Colorado, for over 30 years. A new portion of the development, lndianhead Estates West, has been developed for the past three years, and is still undergoing development. There is only one road into these developments off County Road 15 (Algonquin Drive.) It seems unconscionable that Sinclair Oil would disrupt so many already-established homes / landscapes /fences /and interior roads to add a 10-inch pipeline right across the entire development. There must be other solutions to the location of this pipeline: perhaps east along the southern boundary of Indianhead Estates, then north along County Road 15 right of way. Or, north along the west side of the development, and east along US 34 right of way to get to the Sinclair property at the corner of US34 and County Road 15. If you go ahead with your planned 10-inch pipeline addition, you will be disrupting many of the residential streets in our development, as well as the only road into and out of the area. Not to mention the ongoing problem we will all have with mud and damage to our roads. And the extreme damage to the lots of those directly affected by the pipeline. We urge you to seek another alternative route for your pipeline. Thank you for understanding our concerns, and we look forward to a more positive response from Sinclair Oil towards our development.
