RE: WELD COUNTY JAIL TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County operates a County Jail and alternative jail
programs, and
WHEREAS, the capacity of the Weld County Jail is approaching the maximum
capacity, and
WHEREAS, other jurisdictions are attempting to utilize alternative jail
programs, and
WHEREAS, the following group of citizens have volunteered to serve on the
Weld County Jail Task Force: Gene Brantner, Judge John J. Althoff, Judge
Andrew Borg, Harold Andrews, Mike Metzger, Stan Peek, John Coppom, Norman
Dean, Mike Maehler, Sam Nelson, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have requested that the Weld
County Jail Task Force provide recommendations to the Board of County
Commissioners by June 1, 1984, concerning the future of the facilities of the
Weld County Jail and jail alternative programs in Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County that the above named citizens are hereby appointed to the Weld
County Jail Task Force and that Commissioner, Gene Brantner, is hereby named
to chair the task force.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of December, A.D. , 1983.
