As Powertech continues to move ahead with their plans to mine uranium in
Weld County, we request that you take every measure possible to request a
solid plan for handling the waste products resulting from the mining
process. You have only to look at the mess that remains in Utah after the
mining was finished. The waste products are still lying above ground,
polluting the water streams and air. Powertech does not need to request
permits from the NRC since the State of Colorado has the sole authority to
approve the mining. This is one less "hoop" that Powertech needs to jump
through. We pled that you do everything in your power to stop the mining
process until all citizens questions and concerns are answered and firm
agreements are in place. Weld county is a wonderful place to live - please
keep it that way!

Dear Commissioner,
I am very concerned about the uranium mining being proposed for northern Colorado,
especially for our water supply. I think it will be an environmental disaster. Please do
what you can to discourage the return of this industry to Colorado.
Thank you,
Linda Hoffman
