RE: APPOINT AD HOC COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER POSSIBLE AMENDMENTS TO WELD
COUNTY HOME RULE CHARTER
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Board has received requests to consider placing on the November6,2007,
General election ballot possible amendments to the Weld County Home Rule Charter to set term
limits for the elected offices of Assessor, County Councilman, Clerk and Recorder, Sheriff, and
County Commissioner, and
WHEREAS, the Board believes it best to appoint an ad hoc committee to consider such
possible amendments and to report its recommendation back to the Board, no later than July 27,
2007, and
WHEREAS, the persons the Board wishes to appoint to said ad hoc committee are David
Delgado, Weld County Commissioner William Garcia, Ed Jordan, UNC Professor Steve J.
Mazurana, and Weld County Councilman Gene Stille, and
WHEREAS, said persons have been contacted and agree to serve on said ad hoc
committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that an ad hoc committee to consider possible amendments to the Weld County
Home Rule Charter to set term limits for the elected offices of Assessor, County Councilman,Clerk
and Recorder, Sheriff, and County Commissioner,with the direction to report its recommendation
back to the Board by July 27, 2007, be, and hereby is, created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the persons appointed to said ad hoc
committee are the following: David Delgado, Weld County Commissioner William Garcia, Ed
Jordan, UNC Professor Steve J. Mazurana, and Weld County Councilman Gene Stille.
