RE: APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
IT'S MY VERY OWN, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with a Memorandum of Understanding between
the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and It's My Very Own, Inc.,
commencing December 1, 2006, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said
memorandum, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said memorandum, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the Memorandum of Understanding
between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, and It's My Very
Own, Inc., be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to
sign said memorandum.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 7th day of February, A.D., 2007, nunc pro tunc December 1, 2006.

Department of Social Services and It's My Very Own, Inc.
Enclosed for Board approval is a Memorandum of Understanding between the Weld County
Department of Social Services (Department)and It's My Very Own, Inc. This Memorandum of
Understanding was reviewed at the Board's Work Session of October 30, 2006.
The Memorandum of Understanding is a non-financial.
It's My Very Own, Inc.,will provide age appropriate toy(s), personal care items, and a handmade
blanket for child(ren)who have been removed from their home and placed into the Department's
custody by law enforcement and/or the Courts. The Department's responsibility under the
Memorandum of Understanding would be to identify the level of need to representatives of It's
My Very Own, Inc.
The term of the Memorandum of Understanding is December 1, 2006, and shall be automatically
extended unless terminated by either party on January 1, 2008.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE WELD COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND IT'S MY VERY OWN, INC.
THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is entered into this r7/ h day of
, 2007, by and between the County of Weld, a political subdivision of the
State of Cdlorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of the County of
Weld, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Social Services, hereinafter referred
to as "Social Services"; and It's My Very Own, Inc., a public non-profit entity,
hereinafter referred to as "It's My Very Own".
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the It's My Very Own has developed a new project, entitled, "Bags
of Love"; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of"Bags of Love" was inspired by a growing need of
the children of Weld County communities who are displaced due to the poor choices of
their parents or guardians; and
WHEREAS, these children are innocent victims who are in need; and
WHEREAS, It's My Very Own"provides "Bags of Love" to children with the
immediate needs and through donated items through the generosity of It's My Very Own
and other church members of Ft. Lupton, Dacono, Frederick and Firestone; and
WHEREAS, Social Services has children who have been placed into their custody
by law enforcement and the courts because of safety and protection needs due;
WHEREAS, Social Services, on behalf of the children in their custody,
appreciates the care and generosity bestowed by the It's My Very Own.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and mutual promises and
covenants herein contained, the Parties agree as follows:
Term of this Memorandum of Understanding. This Memorandum of Understanding("MOU"
or"Agreement") shall be effective beginning December 1, 2006, and shall be automatically
extended unless terminated by either party on January 1, 2008. If any Party intends not to renew
the MOU, it should give notice of such intent at least thirty(30) days prior to expiration of the
Agreement.

Responsibilities of It's My Very Own.
1. Furnish Social Services with one "Bags of Love", at no cost, for each child who
has been removed from their home by law enforcement or by the Courts and in
the custody of Social Services. Each one of"Bags of Love" will be filled with
age appropriate toy(s) personal care items, and a handmade blanket.
2. Discuss with Social Services if there is a need for assistance in transporting the
"Bags of Love" to the Social Services office location or if the "Bags of Love" will
be picked-up by Social Services at the It's My Very Own Office(s).
3. Maintain an available stock of"Bags of Love" inventory based on Social
Services' projected needs.
4. Meet with Social Services staff periodically to assess and/or discuss additional
needs or problems that may arise regarding the needs of children.
5. Ensure the quality and contents of each "Bags of Love", which are consistent with
the safety and protective needs of children and as approved by Social Services.
Responsibilities of Social Services.
1. Provide inventory space for up to eight"Bags of Love" at a Social Services
location(s).
2. Disburse each "Bags of Love" to children who are in foster care and ensure that
only one "Bags of Love" is provided to each child.
3. Provide It's My Very Own with an annual estimate of inventory needs of"Bags
of Love".
4. Provide a quarterly report of inventory to It's My Very Own to detail stock
located at Social Services with the specifically identifying the types of"Bags of
Love" by age and gender.
5. Meet with It's My Very Own to discuss needs, problems and other suggestions
that may positively affect the "Bags of Love"program.
Modifications. This Agreement may be modified in whole or in part upon approval of
the signers.
Termination. This Agreement may be terminated by any of the signers upon thirty(30)
days written notice.

Entire Agreement/No Third Party Beneficiary . This Memorandum of Understanding
contains the entire agreement and understanding between the parties to this Memorandum
of Understanding and supersedes any other agreements concerning the subject matter of
this transaction, whether oral or written. It is the express intention of the parties that any
entity other than the undersigned parties receiving services or benefits under this
Memorandum of Understanding shall be deemed an incidental beneficiary only.
No Waiver of Immunity. No portion of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be
deemed to constitute a waiver of any immunities the parties or their officers or employees
may posses, nor shall any portion of this Memorandum of Understanding be deemed to
have created a duty of care that did not previously exists with respect to any person not a
party to this Memorandum of Understanding.
Severability. If any provision of this Memorandum of Understanding should be held to
be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable for any reason, the validity, legality, and
enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired
thereby.
