The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 11, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner William F. Garcia
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jennifer VanEgdom
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of July 9,2007,as printed. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion,and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $39,450.70. Commissioner Garcia moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENTFORSERVICESANDAUTHORIZECHAIRTO SIGN-
CHILDSAFE: Judy Griego, Director, Department of Social Services, stated the term of the agreement is
June 1,2007,through May 31,2008,and ChildSafe will provide outpatient treatment programs,assessment,
and evaluation for sex abuse victims involved in the child welfare system. She stated the source of funding
is Core Services,and ChildSafe will be reimbursed according to the provided fee schedule. Commissioner
Rademacher moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by
Commissioner Garcia, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICESAND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
ISLAND GROVE REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTER: Ms. Griego stated the term of the agreement is
June 1,2007,through May 31,2008,and Island Grove Regional Treatment Center will provide anger and
domestic violation evaluation and treatment for adults involved in the child welfare system. She stated

Island Grove will be reimbursed at the rates identified in the agreement through Core Services and Child
Welfare Block funds. Commissioner Garcia moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to
sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER COLORADO WORKS PROGRAM AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR
TO SIGN - MULTI-DISCIPLINARY YOUTH ASSESSMENT TEAM (MYAT): Ms. Griego stated the term
of the agreement is July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, and the source of funding is Colorado Works
or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), under the Community Investment Program. She
stated the total funding provided is $429,564.00, which includes $60,000.00 for direct services and
$369,664.00 for MYAT contractors. She stated each of the MYAT contractors, including the Departments
of Public Health and Environment and Human Services, Island Grove Regional Treatment Center, North
Range Behavioral Health, LifeBridge Christian Church,Centennial Board of Cooperative Education.Saint
Vrain School District,Weld County School District 6, and the 19th Judicial District Probation Department,
will serve a minimum of 100 youth and families. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said agreement
and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, the motion carried
unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
