Weld County Adoption Day
November 16, 2007
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners, acting as the Board of Social Services,
recognizes the right of every child to a safe and secure future,and
WHEREAS,adoption is a way to secure permanency through a"forever family,"and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Social Services reaches out to families wishing to adopt
children, and
WHEREAS, the Board recognizes the efforts of the community, courts, and public and private agencies
to promote adoption, and
WHEREAS, Divisions 7 and 9 of the 19th Judicial District Courts finalize an average of 130 adoptions
annually through public and private agencies to promote adoption as a vital resource for waiting
children, and
WHEREAS, the 19th Judicial District Courts will be finalizing adoptions throughout the afternoon of
November 16, 2007.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE KNOWN that the Board of Weld County Commissioners does
hereby designate November 16, 2007, to be celebrated as Weld County Adoption Day.
