HomeMy WebLinkAbout800862.tiff P RESOLUTION RE: DECLARE WELD COUNTY A DISASTER AREA DUE TO SPRING RUN-OFF • WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Weld County, Colorado has suffered serious damage to its roads because of wash outs, the loss of two bridges and approaches to many bridges , trees have fallen in rivers and flood prone areas and could cause damage in future floods if not removed, and river banks have eroded, all due to the spring run-off, and WHEREAS, the Road and Bridge employees have worked consi- derable overtime and have used an excessive amount of fuel and oil, and WHEREAS, the cost and magnitude of responding to and recovery from the impact of the spring run-off is far in excess of Weld County ' s available resources. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado declare this to be a local disaster.
