Home My WebLink About20072037.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JULY 16, 2007 TAPE #2007-19 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 16, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tern Commissioner William F. Garcia - EXCUSED Commissioner Robert D. Masden - EXCUSED Commissioner Douglas Rademacher Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Jennifer VanEgdom Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of July 11,2007,as printed. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion,and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$18,230.96. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR INTERAGENCY OVERSIGHT GROUP EVALUATION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO: Judy Griego, Director, Department of Social Services,stated the Department,as the fiscal agent for the Interagency Oversight Group(IOC),will enter into an agreement with the University of Northern Colorado(UNC)for evaluation of collaborative management processes. She stated UNC will be reimbursed a total of$103,400.00 fora term of June 1,2007,through May 31,2008,and the source of funding is the lOG Incentive Fund. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jerke. Chair Long stated evaluations were discussed at the State Human Services Board he recently attended,Weld County has been working pro-actively to recognize future needs, and many comments were received regarding the database created by Weld County to track incentive money. There being no further discussion, the motion carried unanimously. 2007-2037 BC0016 0&-o&' --o1 CONSIDER CONTINUATION APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FOR COLORADO PREVENTION PARTNERS STRATEGIC PREVENTION FRAMEWORK STATE INCENTIVE GRANT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the Department, as the fiscal agent for the IOG, will apply for continuation funding of the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant,on behalf of Island Grove Regional Treatment Center. She stated the source of funding, in the amount of$150,000.00,is through the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. She further stated the funds will be utilized to provide a strategic plan for prevention of substance abuse primarily in school-age children,and will pay for staff and associated expenses for Island Grove Regional Treatment Center. Chair Long stated he received good comments regarding this program and the Promoting Responsible Fatherhood Project, and Weld County has received favorable recognition. He expressed his appreciation to Ms.Griego and her staff. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve said application and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
