HomeMy WebLinkAbout20070944.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO APRIL 4, 2007 TAPE #2007-08 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, April 4, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem Commissioner William F. Garcia Commissioner Robert D. Masden Commissioner Douglas Rademacher Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Jenny VanEgdom Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of April 2, 2007,as printed. Commissioner Rademacher seconded the motion,and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of$15,383.41. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER REVISION TO OPERATIONS MANUAL,SECTION 6.000, COLORADO WORKS IN WELD COUNTY AND CHILD CARE POLICIESAND PROCEDURES: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services, stated a revision will be made to the Summer Activities for Youth Program,and infants through children age seventeen who receive public assistance or are placed in a certified foster care home are eligible for the program. She stated the term of the program is April 1, 2007,through September 30,2007, the source of funding is the Colorado Works Program, and the program intends to serve 1,100 children with education and recreational activities. She further stated the program will also serve 45 teenagers with work experience, and the total budget of the program is$147,000.00. Ms. Griego stated the second revision is to the Employment First program, which is a work program for food stamp recipients. She stated the Department will reimburse the Department of Human Services for management of the program in the amount of $162,154.26, and the source of funding is through the Federal Hunger Act of 1988. 2007-0944 BC0016 Oy-S-D 7 Commissioner Garcia moved to approve said revision. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
