HomeMy WebLinkAbout20070200.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL,SECTION 11.000,COMPUTER AND EQUIPMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with revisions to Section 11.000,Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures,for the Department of Social Services Operations Manual,and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said revisions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the revisions to Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures for the Department of Social Services Operations Manual, be, and hereby are, approved. Griego, Director, Social Services .%ii„t.1 (,,� II RE: Revision to Section 11.000, Computer and E uipment Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual Enclosed for Board approval is a revision to Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual. This revision was reviewed at the Board's Work Session held on January 8, 2007. The revision expands the types of public assistance applications to be reviewed by the Department by using the Accurint software, a web-based program that uses public and non-public information to help prevent client fraud by locating client income, assets and household composition. The expansion will include those applications being recertified or redetermined for continued public assistance. Currently our policy covers only new applicants for public assistance. Reference: 11.500,Accurint Software 2007-0200 Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures 11.500 Accurint Softward Added 10/06 Accurint is a web-based software program that allows the Department to access additional public and non-public information to help prevent client fraud by locating client's income, assets and household composition. 11.501 Accurint Access The Department will give access to the following three staff members: A. Child Support Technician B. Assistance Payments Lead Investigator or his/her designee C. Common Support Clerk III 11.502 Usage of Accurint in the Department Revised 1/07 Accurint will be used by the Department to include, but not limited to, the following: A. Identify any asset(s) in another state, income, household members(s)that may be living with the client, drivers license information,judgments, addresses, bankruptcies, deceased information,etc. B. Any new application(s), redetermination(s), recertification(s), or reassessment(s) for any CBMS programs, except for Family Medicaid only, will be screened through this software by the Common Support Clerk III on a randomly selected basis and scheduled in advance by day, technician, and appointment time. This information will be given to the eligibility technician to crosscheck the information put on the application with the information that is extracted from Accurint. If Accurint has different information than what is on the application, the technician will ask the client for further verification based on the information obtained from Accurint without showing them or telling them where they obtained it from. This may also constitute a referral to investigations. Hello
