INTRODUCTION
Duke Energy Field Services ("DEFS") is submitting its application for an amended USR
Permit to operate oil and gas processing facilities. DEFS does not plan to change the nature of the
use of the site; however, various aspects of the site will be modernized over time. In addition, since
the site was first permitted, the equipment and technology has been significantly and substantially
upgraded. It is DEFS' intent to update this site for land use permitting purposes, and DEFS looks
forward to working with the County on this project.

(AMUSR-543)
1. Explain, in detail, the proposed use of the property:

to use this property for farming.
3. Explain how this proposal is consistent with the intent of the Weld County Code,
Chapter 23 (Zoning) and the zone district in which it is located:
The proposed use is consistent with the intent of the Agricultural Zone District, as it will

Ordinance provides that Oil and Gas Production Facilities are allowed as a matter of right in the
Agricultural Zone District. Further, it will not interfere with any agricultural operations.
4. What type of uses surround the site? Explain how the proposed use is consistent and
compatible with surrounding land uses:
