I requested documentation of the comparable properties used to render the denial of my protest of current property assessment by the county assessor's office and have not received a reply. The property in question is: PT E25W4 21-8-63 LOT A REC EXEMPT RE-2618(.32R)SITUS: 32291 14 HWY AULT 806100000 Owner: Laurie J. MacDonald The denial letter indicates "Your protest of value has been denied due to comparison of other similar properties which sold during the 2005/2006 time period.This comparison shows your actual property value to be correct for that period." I have been unsuccessful in locating any comparable property sales using the county"improved property sales search tool"from their website or any other means to locate recent property sales in the area that substantiate their claim of comparable value. I asked them to provide me with the documentation that they have that supports their claim of my property value and have received no reply from their office at the time of the filing of this appeal. When we purchased the home two years ago we had extreme difficulty getting an appraisal for the asking price value of $200,000 so that we could purchase the home. Current economic trends in this area and recent sales do not warrant the assessors over$112,000 increase in the actual value of this home in the past two years. I would appreciate a hearing being scheduled regarding this inappropriate assessment of the above indicated property.
