RE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR ACQUISITION OF
THE BRIGHTON LIFE SKILLS CENTER/PLATTE VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER
A public hearing was conducted on December 17, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair

The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated November 21, 2007, and duly published
November 28, 2007, in the Fort Lupton Press, a public hearing was conducted to consider the
performance of Weld County in carrying out the acquisition of the Brighton Life Skills Center/Platte
Valley Medical Center. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a matter of record.
Monica Mika, Director of Administrative Services,stated the Brighton Life Skills Center/Platte Valley
Medical Center was purchased the previous week and the County has provided its portion of the
funding. Ms. Mika stated there will be several press releases issued throughout the next week to
inform the public about the purchase of the facility and who will inhabit the hospital. She explained
this is the final hearing the County is obligated to have under the Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) requirements.
No public testimony was offered concerning these matter.
Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, indicated no action is required by the Board.
There being no further discussion, the hearing was completed at 11:00 a.m.

The County of Weld will conduct a public hearing at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, December 17,
2007, in the Chambers of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, Weld
County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, First Floor, Greeley, Colorado. The purpose of the
hearing is to allow citizens to review and comment on the performance of the County of Weld in
carrying out the acquisition of the Brighton Life Skills Center/Platte Valley Medical Center which
was financed with federal Community Development Block Grant funds provided by the State of
Colorado.
Written comments are also welcome and must be received by December 12, 2007, in the
office of the Clerk to the Board, 915 10th Street, P.O. Box 758, Greeley, Colorado 80632.
Information and records regarding the above described project are available at the office of the
Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, located in the Weld County Centennial Center, 915
10th Street, Third Floor, Greeley, Colorado, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Advance notice is requested.
