The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, May 9, 2007, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William F. Garcia
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jennifer VanEgdom
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services
meeting of May 7, 2007, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $5,785.59. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR PROMOTING RESPONSIBLE FATHERHOOD
PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-SUMMITVIEW COMMUNITY CHURCH: Judy Griego,
Director of Social Services, stated Summitview Community Church received a grant, in the amount of
$100,000.00,to fund the Promoting Responsible Fatherhood Project,and the term of the memorandum is
April 1, 2007, through September 30, 2008. She stated Summitview will promote activities and services
for fathers, including increased time spent with families, quality of time spent with families, and increase
in child support. She further stated the Department will assist Summitview by providing a cash match of
$2,100.00,and in-kind staff time, in the amount of$4,254.00. She stated the Department will also provide
$19,000.00, through Temporary Assistance to Needy Families/Community Investment funds, to support
special events through the Dad's Club and parenting skills classes. Ms.Griego stated the Department will
also provide client referrals, training, and assistance with other collaborative efforts. Commissioner

Rademacher moved to approve said memorandum and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by
Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:05 a.m.
