HomeMy WebLinkAbout20073855.tiff HEARING CERTIFICATION DOCKET NO. 2007-91 RE: 2008 BUDGET A public hearing was conducted on December 12, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tem Commissioner William F. Garcia Commissioner Robert D. Masden Commissioner Douglas Rademacher Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Elizabeth Strong County Attorney, Bruce Barker Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated November 9, 2007, and duly published November 14, 2007, in the Fort Lupton Press,a public hearing was conducted to consider the 2008 Final Budget for the County of Weld. Donald Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, made this a matter of record and reviewed the 2008 Budget Changes, which includes all changes made since the Proposed Budget was presented to the Board. Mr. Warden stated the total available funding is $212,928,626.00, and the total budget appropriation is $195,601,175.00. He stated the changes made during the budget hearings will reduce the budget by $47,000.00. Mr. Warden stated the Juvenile Assessment Center's budget request increased by $3,396.00, the Interagency Oversight Group's budget increased by $30,000.00, the District Attorney's Office Victim Witness Program's budget increased by $20,484.00, the Fair ShoWorks budget decreased by$5,500.00 and the Parks and Trails budget decreased $75,000.00. He recommended the 16.804 mill levy remain the same for 2008. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Rademacher moved to approve the Draft Resolution to Approve Budget, in the amount of$212,928,626.00. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Masden, and it carried unanimously. Mr. Warden presented Emergency Ordinance#239, In the Matter of the Annual Appropriation for Weld County, Colorado, for Fiscal Year 2008. Commissioner Masden moved to approve Ordinance#239 on an emergency basis. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Garcia, and it carried unanimously. Mr. Warden presented Emergency Ordinance #240, In the Matter of Setting the Mill Levy for the Annual Appropriation for Weld County, Colorado,for Fiscal Year 2008. He recommended the mill levy remain at 16.804 mills. Commissioner Masden moved to approve Ordinance #240 on an emergency basis. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Rademacher, and the motion 2007-3855 F10046 HEARING CERTIFICATION - 2008 FINAL BUDGET PAGE carried unanimously. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. There being no further discussion, the hearing was completed at 10:50 a.m. This Certification was approved on the 17th day of December 2007.
