HomeMy WebLinkAbout20081038.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES - WASTE MANAGEMENT CORPORATION WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 7th day of April, 2008, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair William H. Jerke, and Commissioners William F. Garcia, Robert D. Masden, and Douglas Rademacher, with Commissioner David E. Long being excused, and WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, with said Assessor, Christopher Woodruff, being present, and taxpayer Waste Management Corporation, not being present, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have carefully considered the attached petition, and are fully advised in relation thereto. A Tax Year 2007 Personal Property Declaration Schedule was filed in a timely manner reflecting the equipment had been removed and a request was made that this account be closed. It is our understanding that due to an error,this account was not completely removed from the Weld County Assessment Roll. This caused the Tax Year 2006 Actual Value of $ 446,357 which is an Assessed Value of$129,440 to be rolled over as the Tax Year 2007 Value and a Notice of Assessment was issued. To date we've been unable to locate a Tax Year 2007 Notice of Assessment for this account in our files. The location address should be 1925 1st Avenue, Greeley. My letter and forms state the location address is 6037 77th Avenue, Greeley which is incorrect. Schedule Number P3163205, 1925 1st Avenue, Greeley is where we are requesting the abatement. The Assessor's Recommendation information on the petition is the correct information for this location address. I spoke with Raelene Churyk at the Assessor's Office and they are aware of my mistake. Is it possible for you to correct the address for me on the info? Please let me know as soon as possible. If you need a letter or anything please let me know.
