Subject: USR-1585 dust abatement
Michelle,
I received a letter dated November 23, 2007 regarding the dust abatement issue. The letter is signed by Darrell Felton and
states that in the event a dust problem arises, they will treat it with water or Mag-Chloride. This is acceptable to the
Department.
Let me know if you need anything else.

In regards to a request you had made for landscaping and screening. Due to the extensive
mowing and weed control problems, the Weld County Board of Commissioners waived
all landscaping requirements, and due to the fact that we are displaying cars, screening
would not be necessary. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Thank you

In response to the use by special review requirements, this letter will address issues that
have arose. Regarding the waste handling, the refuse is collected by B&C Refuse, P. O.
Box 484,Platteville, CO, 80651 (970)785-2908. The type of said waste is light trash and
has no chemicals or hazardous waste.
Regarding, maintenance all weeds will be kept down by a combination of mowing and
herbicidal spraying.
Regarding all landscaping/screening issues, the Board of Commissioners waived this
requirement. Please see attached minutes.
Regarding the CDOT requirements and concerns, it,too, was discussed at the Board of
Commissioners meeting, and the property lessee is advised that the crossover lane will be
closed sometime in the future. CDOT states that there is adequate drainage and fencing.
Please see attached minutes.
Regarding the concerns by the town of Milliken, the Board of Commissioners waived the
landscaping and screening requirements. The town of Milliken also checked the response
box that states,"We have reviewed the request and find no conflicts with our interests."
The property lessee agrees to keep weeds and trash controlled. The towns of Platteville
and Gilcrest did not voice any concern.
Regarding the issue of storm water drainage, the small, narrow property drains to the
front drainage ditch, which has been acknowledged as adequate.
We feel that we have addressed all concerns through this letter and additional letters to
other concerned parties. Thank you for your time and consideration.
