HomeMy WebLinkAbout20080821.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES-ANDREW WINFREY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 17th day of March, 2008, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair William H. Jerke and Commissioners David E. Long, and William F. Garcia, with Commissioners Robert D. Masden and Douglas Rademacher being excused, and WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present has been given to the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, with said Assessor, Christopher Woodruff, being present, and taxpayer Andrew Winfrey, not being present, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have carefully considered the attached petition, and are fully advised in relation thereto. Wade Melies, a commercial appraiser inspected the property December 13, 2007. During the inspection I was escorted around the property by the former resident who stated he live in the house and was living there at the time of the fire. A fire occurred in December of 2006 in which the flew cause a fire between the first and second floors. The fire gutted an upstairs bedroom and part of a hallway. There is some water damage to a first floor room. For 2006 Mr. Winfrey is requesting the house be classified as residential instead of commercial office. For 2007 Mr. Winfrey is requesting the house be classified as residential instead of commercial office and some value be reduce because of the fire. The meeting is scheduled for March 17, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., in the First Floor Meeting Room, Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado. The Assessor is recommending that the Board approve your petition.
