RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENTS TO THE HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, vacancies currently exist on the Human Services Committee, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Elizabeth Ortiz be appointed to said board,
effective December 31, 2007,to replace Yvonne Benavides as a Parent Policy representative,with
a term to expire December 31, 2008, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Brad Patterson be appointed to said board,
effective December 31, 2007, to replace John Lee as the City of Greeley representative, with a
term to expire December 31, 2010, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Kevin Thompson be appointed to said board,
effective December 31, 2007, as a Disabled Community representative, with a term to expire
December 31, 2009, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Tom Denning be reappointed to said board,
effective December 31, 2007, as a Parent Policy representative, with a term to expire
December 31, 2010, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Elizabeth Ortiz, Brad Patterson, and
Kevin Thompson to said board,with terms to expire December 31, 2008, December 31, 2010, and
December 31, 2009, respectively; and to reappoint Tom Denning to said board, with a term to
expire December 31, 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Elizabeth Ortiz, Brad Patterson, and Kevin Thompson be, and hereby are,
appointed to the Human Services Committee, effective December 31, 2007, with terms to expire
December 31, 2008, December 31, 2010, and December 31, 2009, respectively.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that Tom Denning be, and hereby is,
reappointed to the Human Services Committee,effective December 31,2007,with a term to expire
December 31, 2010.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 7th day of January, A.D., 2008, nunc pro tunc December 31, 2007.
