RE: APPROVE RESCINDING RESOLUTION #2008-1042, DATED APRIL 7, 2008, AND
RE-ESTABLISHING THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S SALARY FOR TERM JANUARY 1,
2009, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2012
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,Section 20-1-301,C.R.S.,specifies that commencing January 1, 1997, in every
judicial district, the District Attorney shall receive, as compensation for his services, the sum of not
less than $67,000.00 per annum. Effective January 1, 2009, the minimum amount changes to
$100,000.00, and increases $10,000.00 each of the next three years, for a minimum 2012 salary
of$130,000.00. Any amount in excess of the State minimum, shall be set by the Board of County
Commissioners of the county or counties comprising the judicial district, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution #2008-1042, dated April 7, 2008, the Board set the
compensation of the District Attorney for the Nineteenth Judicial District in Weld County in the
amount of $130,000.00 per annum beginning January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2009,
$140,000.00 per annum beginning January 1, 2010, through December 31,2010,$150,000.00 per
annum beginning January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011, and $160,000.00 per annum
beginning January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2012.
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to rescind Resolution#2008-1042,
dated April 7, 2008, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
re-establish the District Attorney's Salary in the amount of $145,000.00 per annum beginning
January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2012.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Resolution#2008-1042, dated April 7, 2008, be, and hereby is, rescinded.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that under the
authority of Section 20-1-301, C.R.S., the per annum salary for the District Attorney serving the
Nineteenth Judicial District located in Weld County, shall be $145,000.00 per annum, beginning
January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2012.
