RE: Dump site near Milliken, Colorado
Dear Commissioners :
My name is Keith Montey, Jr. and I currently live at 26445 Weld
County Road 25 , Milliken, Colorado . I am writing this letter
in regard to your recent approval of the d-:rp site for oil
production water which is near my residence.
In watching and reading the local newspaper concerning this
controversial dump site , I find it very hard to believe that
the people of Weld County have elected individuals who would
favor such a project , when so many people have shown realistic
comparisons and concerns on why we should not have this dump
site in this area. I also find it very unusual that on
November 16th, 1983 , the dump site was denied, and then less
than one month later the same site was approved by our
commissioners . The thought of such a sudden decision in so
little time shows me we have elected people who make decisions
on impulse , and not on how their decisions will affect the
people who voted them into office.
Hopefully, the decision you have made will not affect my family,
my livestock, my property water, or myself. However, to safeguard
my interests , I am having my underground well (which is used
strictly for domestic purposes ) tested and documented accordingly.
My intentions in writing this letter are the result of confusing
thoughts on why We elect officials who Liae:o; + i );.LJT:D.b�_e decisions
concerning so many'people. In my business , I have always put to
use the idea "when in doubt , don' t do it" . I feel in any case or
situation this is a good rule of thumb. Tbat is why I have no
doubt in my mind that if this dump site affects my water or the
value of my property should I decide to sell , you the Commissioners
will be held responsible for all damages .
