RE: APPROVAL OF SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT ISSUED TO THE AMERICAN CANCER
SOCIETY, AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, The American Cancer Society presented to the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, an application for a Special Events Permit for the sale
of malt, vinous and spirituous liquors for consumption by the drink on the premises only, and
WHEREAS,said applicant has paid the sum of TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS($25.00)to Weld
County, Colorado, pursuant to the laws providing therefore in payment for a County Retail Permit
for the sale of malt, vinous and spirituous liquors for consumption by the drink on the premises
only, for an event scheduled for one day only on September 13, 2008, from 5:00 p.m., until
12:00 a.m., September 14, 2008, outside the corporate limits of any town or city in the County of
Weld at the location described as follows:
The residence of Ed and Sue Orr, 11651 County
Road 62, Greeley, Colorado 80631, being more fully
described as the SE1/4 of Section 36, Township 6
North, Range 67 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County,
Colorado
WHEREAS, said applicant has also paid the sum of TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00)
to the Colorado Department of Revenue and has exhibited a State Special Events Permit for the
sale of malt, vinous and spirituous liquors for consumption by the drink on the premises only.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, having examined said application and the other qualifications of the applicant,
does hereby grant Special Events Permit Number 2008-13 to said applicant to sell malt, vinous and
spirituous liquors for consumption by the drink on the premises only, only at retail at said location;
and the Board does hereby authorize and direct the issuance of said permit by the Chair of the
Board of County Commissioners, attested to by the Clerk to the Board of Weld County, Colorado,
which permit shall be effective from 5:00 p.m., September 13, 2008, until 12:00 a.m.,
September 14,2008, providing that said place where the permitee is authorized to sell malt, vinous
and spirituous liquors for consumption by the drink on the premises only, shall be conducted in
strict conformity to all of the laws of the State of Colorado and the rules and regulations relating
thereto, heretofore passed by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, and
any violations thereof shall be cause for revocation of the permit.

A Special Event Permit issued under this article may be issued to an organization,whether or not presently licensed under
Articles 46 and 47 of this title,which has been incorporated under the laws of this state for the purpose of a social,fraternal,
patriotic,political or athletic nature,and not for pecuniary gain or which is a regularly chartered branch, lodge or chapter
of a national organization or society organized for such purposes and being non profit in nature, or which is a regularly
established religious or philanthropic institution, and to any political candidate who has filed the necessary reports and
statements with the Secretary of State pursuant to Article 45 of Title 1, C.R.S. A Special Event permit may be issued to
any municipality owning arts facilities at which productions or performances of an artistic or cultural nature are presented

RE: Special Events License Application for American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society has provided an application for a Special Events Permit for an event
happening on September 13, 2008. The applicant submitted the application thirty(30)days before
the event, on August 13, 2008; however, due to scheduling conflicts and an upcoming holiday, the
hearing to be held by the local licensing authority, to approve the application, is not scheduled to
take place until September 3,2008. Due to the requirement that application materials be submitted
to the State no less than ten days before an event, I have enclosed the application materials for
review and processing by your office, including the appropriate fee. I will fax a copy of the signed
report and approval by Weld County immediately following the hearing on September 3, 2008.

Thank you to your department for the assistance that you gave the American Cancer
Society for our Cattle Barons Ball event. We were required to file a Special Event
Permit and Assembly Permit for the September 13`h gala to be held in Weld County.

courtesy. She helped us navigate through the forms and kept us on track so that our
permits could be filed with permission granted by the Weld County Commissioners.
