RE: APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN WELD COUNTY AND DETECTIVE
INTELLIGENCE PATROL AGENCY FOR SECURITY SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE SAME.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a Contract between Weld County and Detective
Intelligence Patrol Agency for security services has been pre-
pared and presented to the Board of County Commissioners for
approval , and
WHEREAS, security services shall be furnished by Detective
Intelligence Patrol Agency for the Weld County Centennial Center
and the Weld County Courthouse, and
WHEREAS, services shall be provided for calendar year
1981 and said Contract shall expire on December 31 , 1981, and
WHEREAS, the Board, after studying said Contract, deems
it advisable to approve the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Contract between
Weld County and Detective Intelligence Patrol Agency for
security services for the Weld County Centennial Center and
the Weld County Courthouse be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Chairman of the Board be, and hereby is, authorized to
sign said Contract.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of
January, A.D. , 1981 .

CONTRACT FOR SERVICES
THIS AGREEMENT made on the ,n `4- day of iti.24t/j..,
1981, nunc pro tunc as of 12 : 01 a.m. on the 1st day of January,
1981, by and between DETECTIVE INTELLIGENCE PATROL AGENCY of Evans,
Colorado, hereinafter referred to as "D.I.A. , " and the COUNTY OF
WELD, STATE OF COLORADO, by and through its Board of County Com-
missioners, hereinafter referred to as "County. "
The parties recite and declare that:
1. County is in need of the services of persons possessing
the skills and ability required to provide security
services for the Weld County Centennial Center and the
Weld County Courthouse.
2. DIA provides such security services and has undertaken
to extend such services to the County.
3. The County is therefore desirous of engaging the services,
of DIA in order to provide security guards for the above
County buildings, subject to the supervision of the Weld
County Board of County Commissioners, pursuant to the
authority vested in the County by Section 30-11-101, et
seq. , CRS 1973 and the Weld County Home Rule Charter.
For the reasons set forth above and in consideration of the
mutual covenants and promises of the parties hereto, DIA and the
County agree as follows:
1. SERVICES. DIA will furnish one guard to the County at
the Weld County Centennial Center, and one guard at the
County Courthouse, by an armed, uniformed patrolman or
patrolwoman, designated a "regular officer" by DIA, be-
tween the hours of 5 : 00 o' clock p.m. and 8 : 00 o' clock
a.m. , Monday through Friday, and for a twenty-four (24)
hour period on Saturdays, Sundays and the eleven (11)
scheduled County holidays. Said patrolman shall provide
access to the Centennial Center to authorized County
employees after a showing of proper identification by
the employees. Periodically, the patrolmen shall check
the premises of the Centennial Center and of the Weld
County Courthouse for forcible entry, unauthorized per-
sons, unlocked doors, broken windows, fire hazards , and
any other irregularities as may come to his attention.
If appropriate, DIA shall submit written notices of irre-
gularities on the date of their occurrence, and shall
give immediate telephone notification of such irregu-
larities to proper authorities.
2. EQUIPMENT. DIA shall furnish adequate equipment for
use by its employees and shall supply competent and
sufficient technical services.
3. COUNTY TO PROVIDE ACCESS. It shall be the duty of the
County to provide access to county buildings to DIA so
that DIA may carry out its obligations under this con-
tract.
4. TERM OF CONTRACT, TERMINATION. This agreement shall be
for the calendar year 1981 and expire on the 31st day of
December, 1981, subject only to termination by either
party in the event of breach of contract by either party
in which case, this contract may be terminated by giving
written notice of termination to the other party at least
thirty (30) days prior to the proposed termination date.
5. MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT. No modification or waiver of
this Agreement or of any covenant, condition, or provision
herein contained shall be valid unless in writing and
duly executed by the party to be charged therewith.
6. PAYMENT. DIA shall be compensated at a rate of FOUR
AND 75/100 DOLLARS ($4. 75) per hour for the above-
described services. DIA shall bill the County monthly,
including a complete log of coverage as required by
Section 1 above. A County warrant will be issued in
remittance.

7. INSURANCE AND LICENSING. DIA shall act as an indepen-
dent contractor in the performance of the services pro-
vided in this Contract. DIA shall maintain liability
insurance for employees for false arrest, personal
injury and property damage in the following amounts ,
at a minimum of:
$300, 000 - Each occurrence - False Arrest
$300, 000 - Each person
Liability:
$300, 000 - Each accident
$ 50, 000 - Property damage
DIA shall comply with applicable state and local
requirements for the licensing and bonding of detective
agencies, at all times maintaining current license and
bonds.
DIA shall also comply with applicable state law
governing employment, including the Colorado Workman' s
Compensation Act. DIA shall be solely responsible for
the payment of Workman' s Compensation to its employees
in the manner and to the extent required by such Act.
8. COMPLETE AGREEMENT IN WRITTEN CONTRACT. This Agreement
embodies the full agreement between the parties. There
are no inducements, promises, terms, conditions or
obligations made or entered into by either DIA or the
County other than contained herein, and this Contract
shall supercede all previous communications , representa-
tions or agreements, either verbal or written, between
the parties hereto.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parites have executed this Agreement
at Greeley, Colorado, the day and year first above written.
