Home My WebLink About20081553.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO MAY 28, 2008 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, May 28, 2008, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner William H. Jerke, Chair Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Pro-Tem Commissioner William F. Garcia Commissioner David E. Long - EXCUSED Commissioner Douglas Rademacher- EXCUSED Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Elizabeth Strong Finance and Administration Director, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Garcia moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board meeting of April 28, 2008, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER PROGRAM DESCRIPTION FOR DOWN PAYMENT AND CLOSING COST ASSISTANCE PROGRAM THROUGH HIGH PLAINS HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION: Tom Teixeira, Greeley-Weld County Housing Authority,stated this is a program change to decrease the interest rate from five to three percent on first-time loans for home buyers. He stated the maximum loan limit will be set at $5,000.00, and the maximum purchase price for a house will be limited to $130,000.00. In response to Chair Jerke, Mr. Teixeira stated the established limit on the purchase price will assist those who are working but need assistance with down payments due to a low socioeconomic status. Responding to Commissioner Garcia, Mr. Teixeira clarified the program amounts may be revised, as determined by the economy. In response to Chair Jerke, Mr. Teixeira stated the program is marketed through Realtors and lenders in the area, as well as occasional newspaper advertisements. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said description for the Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program. Seconded by Commissioner Garcia, the motion carried unanimously.
