Dear Mr. Ogle:
I am writing on behalf on my client, Idaho Creek Gravel Company, to inform you of its
amendment application to the DRMS regarding the Kobobel Pit. This site is located in the East
'A of the Southwest '/4 of Section 15, Township 2 North, Range 68 West, of the 6th Principal
Meridian, Weld County, Colorado. Idaho Creek Gravel Company is proposing to change the
reclamation plan of the site from groundwater lakes to lined storage reservoirs. This change
entails using a clay liner to line the reservoir. The reservoir liner design was completed by a
registered professional engineer. The design was in accordance with the State of Colorado.
The change in final reclamation is consistent with surrounding lands uses. Residential
development has occurred to the south of the site and the County Mixed Use Development Plan
indicates future residential and commercial developments as allowed uses in the area. Currently
there are still several active mining operations adjacent to the site.
Idaho Creek Gravel Company requests an update to its USR and will provide Weld County with
a copy of the approved DRMS amendment when available. It will also update its USR plat with
the County at that time. Please let me know if you need any further information.
