RE: ESTABLISH NEW PRECINCTS FOR UPCOMING PRIMARY AND GENERAL
ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1-5-101(1), C.R.S., and pursuant to the recommendation
of Steve Moreno, Weld County Clerk and Recorder, the Board is required to establish precincts for
the 2008 General Election, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Moreno has presented to the Board a list of four precincts in Weld County
which, because of their large number of voters, should be split into new precincts for the 2008
General Election, those precincts being as follows:
1. Precinct 2234862204, with 2,376 voters, to split into Precincts 2234862204 and
2234862242,with 1,103 voters and 1,273 voters, respectively, said Precincts being
shown on the attached Exhibit "A;"
2. Precinct 4234862229, with 2,369 voters, to split into Precincts 4234862229 and
4234862244, with 1,388 voters and 981 voters, respectively, said Precincts being
shown on the attached Exhibit "B;"
3. Precinct 4134862213, with 2,054 voters, to split into Precincts 4134862213 and
4134862243,with 1,004 voters and 1,050 voters, respectively, said Precincts being
shown on the attached Exhibit"C;"
4. Precinct 2234862328, with 2,912 voters, to split into Precincts 2234862334 and
2234862328,with 1,375 voters and 1,537 voters, respectively, said Precincts being
shown on the attached Exhibit "D;" and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to establish the new precincts in Weld County
for the upcoming Primary and General Elections,as indicated above and as shown on the attached
Exhibits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that new precincts in Weld County for the upcoming Primary and General
Elections, as indicated above and as shown on the attached Exhibits, be, and hereby are,
approved.
