Subject: Surplus Property
In 1981, the Greeley Police asked to utilize a replaced overhead light
bar which we were holding to be declared surplus and disposed of. The
light bar was an old unit with very limited remaining life to be used
in the Police Training Academy at Aims College, during training exercises.
The Greeley Police has gotten out of the Academy business and the pro-
ject has since been taken over by Aims College operating as the Northern
Colorado Police Training Academy. The Aims Department of Public Safety
has now contacted me asking for permission to use the light bar mounted
on the police training track car as their security vehicle when not in
use as part of the Criminal Justice Program. We don't object.
The light bar is estimated at $100.00 surplus value. We would therefore
request the light bar be declared surplus and donated to Aims College
for use primarily in their Criminal Justice Program.
