RE: APPROVE COURT SECURITY GRANT APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO
SIGN - COLORADO OFFICE OF THE STATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR COURT
SECURITY CASH FUND
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with a Court Security Grant Application between
the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County,on behalf of the Weld County Sheriff's Office, and Colorado Office of the State Court
Administrator Court Security Cash Fund,commencing January 1,2008,and ending June 30,2008,
with further terms and conditions being as stated in said grant application, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said grant application,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Court Security Grant Application between the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the
Weld County Sheriff's Office, and Colorado Office of the State Court Administrator Court Security
Cash Fund be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to
sign said grant application.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 27th day of February, A.D., 2008, nunc pro tunc January 1, 2008.

1. Security Guards use standard procedures to screen private citizens.
2. K-ray machines.
3. Walk through emtal detectors and hand held scanners.
4. ID Card display for employees who bypass scanners.
Briefly outline objectives, anticipated results and timeline for implementation should your grant request be
approved:
1. Provide clear communication for Court Transport Deputies and contract security officers with the court Transport
Division command post from any location within the court building complex and beyond. 2. Provide communication with
weld County Sheriff's Office and Greeley Police Department who may be required to respond to an active shooter or
hostage situation in the courthouse. The current 400 MHZ system does not facilitate either of these two objectives.
3. Relieve congestion at public entry points that significantly compromises security by allowing employees to enter
at another location. Clear universal communication and enhanced security. Implementation would be four weeks from the
date of the grant being approved.
