NATIONAL VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK
PROCLAMATION
Whereas, Weld County seniors are valued members of society, and it is our collective
responsibility to ensure they live safely and with dignity, and
Whereas, combating abuse of older people will help improve the quality of life for all seniors
across this county and will allow seniors to continue to live as independently as possible and
contribute to the life and vibrancy of Weld County, and
Whereas, victims' rights are a critical component of the promise of"justice for all," the
foundation for our system of justice in America, and
Whereas, Weld County is joining forces with victim service programs, criminal justice officials,
and concerned citizens throughout Weld County to raise awareness about victims' rights and
observe the 28th National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
Now, therefore, let it be known that the Board of Weld County Commissioners does hereby
proclaim the week of April 13 - 19, 2008, as National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
