HomeMy WebLinkAbout20080163.tiff RESOLUTION RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR THE WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY TO PROCEED WITH LEGAL ACTION AGAINST CHARLES HACKNEY FOR VIOLATION OF THE WELD COUNTY CODE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Charles Hackney, ZCV#0701150, is allegedly in violation of the Weld County Code, and WHEREAS, despite efforts by the Planning staff to resolve said matter, the violation has not been corrected, and WHEREAS, on the 8th day of January, 2008, a public hearing was held before the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of hearing testimony relating to said violation, and WHEREAS, Charles Hackney, property owner, was present at said hearing, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to refer said violation to the Weld County Attorney's Office for legal action, with an instruction for delay of action upon such referral until March 8, 2008, to allow adequate time for the property owner to remove the derelict vehicles to bring the subject property into compliance and for an inspection of the property by the Department of Planning Services staff. I explained what a Derelict Vehicle was. He said he would need some time. I told him that I would send him a 60 day letter. He said okay. 12/12/2007 Phone Call Mr. Hackney (303-857-9226) called and left a message on 12/10/07. I called him back and left him a message earlier today. 12/14/2007 Phone Call Mr. Hackney called and said that he was really close. He just needed until the beginning of the year. I explained that the next available violation hearing was on 01/08/08.
