I am very concerned about the potentially severe impacts the proposed uranium mine near
Nunn, Colorado will have on our land, water, and health. As my representative, I ask that
you do everything in your power to stop this project.
Thank You, James C. Moore, MD

Subject: Nunn Mining
To commissioner Bill Garcia:
I am writing in regards to the Uranium Mining proposal in Nunn, CO. I live close to
Wellington and this mining project worries me a great deal. I am concerned most about
water contamination, property rights and radiation poisoning.
It seems to me that water is our most precious commodity — we are 70% water and we would
die in three days if we did not have water. Is there anything more essential to human
beings than water? Certainly not uranium.
I feel that uranium mining in our neighborhood would have a negative impact on our
property values, which with a hurting housing market does not bode well for this local
economy.
Uranium mining will expose humans to radiation and heavy metal poisoning. Why would we
risk that so close to our town?
Please, I am asking you to protect Northern Colorado from uranium mining. The company
will be applying for permits in December so something must be done NOW! There is a large
group of Northern Coloradoans who are fighting this because of all that is at stake.
Please use your power for the benefit of your constituents and not some Canadian mining
company!
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Kim Nelson
