Hope this finds you well and not too busy. I realize that it has been months since we
talked at CACA, but I wanted to follow up with you. (I have been kept busy by my final AC
litigation case and enjoying the mountains! ) As you may recall, I am researching the life
Catherine Cariaso for my book.
The Weld County BOCC apparently conducted hearings on February 18, 2004, March 3,
2004, March 31, 2004 and June 16,2004 to consider whether was there was good cause to
revoke Amended USR#673, Catherine Cariaso, 750 Highway 60,Loveland, CO 80537. (The
property was in unincorporated Weld County. ) From the County's web information, it appears
that there may have been testimony on Feb. 18th and March 3rd, and that the matter was
only heard briefly on March 31st. , with the BOCC taking action on June 16th.
I am interested in obtaining a copy of the tapes of the above mentioned hearings, but
only as relating to the case of Catherine Cariaso.
If you could direct me to the correct person to obtain a copy of the tapes, I would be
most appreciative. If you need additional information, have any questions, or need me to
file a formal open records request, please let me know. I can be reached by e-mail, or by

Although I would like to come to the next CACA, it won't be practicable, especially
with my being able to earn so many credits by reading the October issues of the Colorado
Lawyer and by attending last summer's session!

Dear Ester:
Enclosed pleased fmd a check in the amount of$60 for a deposit for a copy of the
tapes of the January 7, Feb. 18, March 3 and June 16, 2004 BOCC proceedings regarding
Catherine Cariaso's special use permit No. 673 for the premises at 750 Highway 60,
Loveland, CO 80537. Based on my conversation with you yesterday, my understanding is
that there was nothing on the record on March 31, 2004 regarding Ms. Cariaso. If for
some reason that is incorrect, I would also like a copy of that portion of the proceeding
pertaining to Ms. Cariaso.
As you know, I am only interested in the proceedings regarding Ms. Cariaso, not
other business on those dates. My understanding is that the deposit is to cover the cost of
copying the tapes by Aims Community College. If possible,I would really appreciate
it if Aims was requested to copy the tapes onto a CD or DVD. Thank you!

I took the package to our mailing dept, and they said they will take it over to the Post Office to find out the exact
amount we will need for postage. Their machine showed more for insurance than your estimate, so that's why
they want to take it directly to the Post Office before having me e-mail the amount to you. I will be glad to wait to
mail it to you. I will be out of the office between Christmas and New Years, so would it be okay to mail it when I
get back on Jan 2nd?

When you get a chance, would you please let me know how much the total will be to mail the tapes- I think it
would be best to just insure them-and I believe up to $200 is about$2.30, so insuring them for$150 should more
than cover them. If it is okay with you, and after you get my check, would it possible to mail them after
Christmas? With all the snow we have had up here, and the backlog(still)of the mail), that might be safer..

$64.94 to cover the remaining costs of copying the above reference tapes, postage and
insurance of$150. As we discussed,your office will mail the tapes to my post office
address on December 26, 2007 to avoid the Christmas backlog.
