RE: Notice of the Need for the Eradication of Noxious Weeds
Dear Landowner:
Under provision of the Colorado Weed Management Act (35-5.5-109 CRS) and Weld County Code,
Chapter 15, Article II, this letter is to serve as notice that the presence of noxious weeds has been
observed on properties which are owned, leased, and/or occupied by you and located in: Section 13,
Township 2 north, Range 67 west of the 6th P. M., in Weld County, Colorado. The property is designated
in the Weld County Assessors Office as parcel number 131113400020.
The noxious weed present on the property is: Saltcedar or Tamarisk(Tamarix ramosissima).
Because this weed is set for eradication in Weld County, they must be destroyed. Presently, the best
methods of eradication are: 1) to cut the trees to the ground and to immediately place an herbicide on the
stump, 2)to dig them out or pull them out of the ground.
Section 35-5.5-109, C.R.S. and Weld County Code, Chapter 15, requires you to control the weeds
by using at least one of these methods by June 29,2008 or submit an acceptable weed management
plan with an acceptable completion date or request an arbitration panel by June 29, 2008. If you
do not comply by June 29, I will request a Right of Entry from the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County to enter the property to control the designated noxious weeds at your expense, as
provided in Section 35-5.5-109 (5a) C.R.S.and Weld County Code, Chapter 15.
I will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding the eradication of this noxious weed on the
property. 1 am also available to assist you in developing short and long term weed management plans.
My office phone number is (970) 304-6496, Ext. 3772 or Ext 3770 for Tina Booton, Weed Division
Supervisor.
Sincerely, .
